Which is EXACTLY what I make....
I was looking for the German technical term...."Druck und Zugstufe"
I completely change these settings....
The Koni original value is completely wrong.
I increase the BUMP setting a good deal, and make it right for ZERO...
(ie. point zero on Koni setting range).
I DECREASE the rebound setting, so that you can run the suspension at "maximum comfort" if you want on setting ZERO.
This is optimum for wet driving and cold weather setting.
If you then adjust the Koni damper by hand from my custom setting, you increase the REBOUND rate, which on any needle valve damper (eg. Spax) is WAY to hard!
If you then want a 'sports" set up, you increase the damper setting ONE TURN on the rebound.
This will give optimum road holding in dry warm conditions.
I would be willing to bet this type of damper comparing 2 laps of the Nurburgring in the same car - swapped out against a set of Spax, will give a 10 second advantage.
NB:-
You cannot set the BUMP rate on a Koni (or spax or avo for that matter).
This is why mine are set up on the proper machine, and MATCHED.
From Koni, (which is a quality manufacturer) there was 25% difference between a pair of NEW dampers from the factory.
What chance do you think YOU have in those conditions & without measurement instruments??!!
